Honestly they don't count and they don't really care as long as my work gets done and I'm not abusing it. So far this year I have taken 13 days but this year is extraordinary because I had two surgeries. I normally don't get sick and have only 1 or 2 sick days each year.
We do get HAPPY DAYS where I can take one day a month off, in addition to my vacation days, and do whatever I want.

@Lilymoon He's really amazing. I have so many perks here - a cell phone for personal and work use, we close down the office every xmas for two weeks (on top of our holidays), he gives me spending money every time I go on holidays, time off whenever I need it, no questions asked. I'm just so lucky. Oh and his wife made him start giving us a day off every year to do our xmas shopping.
