Not sure how to reply to replies so we'll try this
Mirage...maybe that's it, a quest for self-knowledge leads. For me it's a drive to help others going through the same or similar things. Redeeming unfortunate experiences and using them as motivation to help
Anonymiss, I have learned more than I could possibly fit into this box. One good thing is that everyone has a story, so unreasonable behavior may have a very reasonable explanation. One bad thing, evil is real.
Onddruid, learning from the difficulties of others saves having to make all of the mistakes yourself.

Hmm perhaps, or they don't know or understand themselves or their own behavior, so they look to others. Once we are self aware and understand our own behavior, it's easy to understand and be keenly aware of others. Human nature is human nature. :-)

I believe most people go in human studies because of their experiences and they want to help others because of it. A lot of times we realize and it forces us to fix ourselves before we can effectively help others. But we all are a work in progress and at different maturity levels. But as a whole we need more people in this world helping others because we live in a world of people who are hurting and need help to work through difficulties in life.
Maybe it is so that difficult experience is part of being human. But difficulties, especially the difficulties of others are thought provoking I think.
Tell me what you've learned
