I Am Fascinated By Human Behavior

What do you think of the saying, "you raise a daughter, you spoil a son."? An article I came across recently stated this and it was written by a psychologist so wasn't just some random person. It confirms what I've long suspected and seen in my own life. I experienced it in my home and saw it in a lot of my friends' families as well. Boys are raised with a bigger sense of entitlement than girls typically are. Of course this is not always true. I've known plenty of girls who were spoiled rotten but in most cases they didn't have brothers. And no not all boys are spoiled or even treated well. It's just generally true and I've heard some men say they had it easier than their sisters did.

@Thisthinglovesyou wow! I bet that made your mom's sister feel like crap.
@Cloud7593 she was very resentful her whole life is what mom says. Hates their brother and hated mom. Mom is the youngest and didn'thave to get her own clothes until she was 12 and started babysitting for money. Her sister committed suicide in her 30s and her brother died of cancer in his 30s. Mom is the only one left

I wish she hadn't let restentment eat at her like that. She only hurt herself with that. It can be hard though. I used to get mad at the way my parents spoiled my brother and treated me like an outsider but don't much anymore. It's not hurting them any.
Yeah, it eats at the one doing the resenting but has little effect on the ones being resented
