I completely agree. It was like last month when I was walking into a store that a man was walking out of and we happened to make eye contact, so I threw him one of these smiles
like the most I-don’t-want-your-attention-but I’m-acknowledging-we-just-made -eye-contact smiles possible. And he stopped and asked me how I was doing. I kept walking into the store and he turned around, followed me back into the store, saying “pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty girl” over and over. I cried when I got back into the car.
When your options are nicely acknowledging someone and potentially getting harassed, or coming off as rude, rude it is.
@pancakeslam I wish that acknowledging someone exists didn’t increase the chances of being harassed. I like the thought of being friendly in passing, but it’s just not worth it
@pancakeslam Do not discount me in the ways I can cause pain to those that deserve it, I do have experience, a mini maglite can do quite a lot when used while putting someone in a wrist lock.
