you smile at a male and the next thing you know he’s slithering up to you asking for ur number

and then they have the audacity to ask why we don’t smile at them when we are out in public. bonus if she’s alone!!! tf out of here..

I completely agree. It was like last month when I was walking into a store that a man was walking out of and we happened to make eye contact, so I threw him one of these smiles
like the most I-don’t-want-your-attention-but I’m-acknowledging-we-just-made -eye-contact smiles possible. And he stopped and asked me how I was doing. I kept walking into the store and he turned around, followed me back into the store, saying “pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty girl” over and over.
I cried when I got back into the car.

When your options are nicely acknowledging someone and potentially getting harassed, or coming off as rude, rude it is.

@deathfairy I wish I was there so I could have beat the shit out of him.

@NativePortlander you are one scary mofo

@lumberjackslam Do not discount me in the ways I can cause pain to those that deserve it, I do have experience, a mini maglite can do quite a lot when used while putting someone in a wrist lock.

This actually give clarity to a side I admittedly haven’t thought much of. I get self conscious and feel bad when I smile, nod my head or say high and a girl just glares at me or doesn’t acknowledge me. At least I know it may not always be personal
Ugh, this is true. Being polite is not flirting.
i was stuck in traffic with some old dusty in front of me with his window open smiling and biting his lip at me. the fuck? let me tell u when i gagged 🤢 @mindstruggle
@deathfairy
Eeeeew!!!! 😑 I hate those kind of guys. Oh God now I hate men.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@deathfairy I hate that shit when it happens to me. Why do men think that’s okay?
pentacorn · F
so this highlights the fact that some men expect to be able to ask you to open the door to them with a smile. if a smile is an invitation to them... the sheer audacity of asking for an invitation, it's pathetic.
okay grammar police officer, professor satan says it’s a real word @Degbeme
pentacorn · F
@lumberjackslam just know a smile is not an invitation to anything more than a returned smile. have some restraint. it's a very a lovely attribute for a gentleman to posses.

And if she's not smiling, a man will tell her she should 🙄
SophieSmiles · 18-21, F
This is why I wear headphones and don’t make eye contact
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I effing hate when men say yo me “you should smile more” or “how come you’re not smiling”. Who are these strange men And why do they think it’s ok to voice their opinion of whether I smile or not wtf
Menetics · 22-25, F
I would either just tell them I’m married or I’m a lesbian. It works.
deadgerbil · 22-25, M
I don't get guys like that. No shame or something.

Men basically have two modes when it comes to that...

Smother or self-destruct. (I'm in the self-destruct category)
I get smiled at and flirted with by women all the time. I turn around and walk away.
Why help them load their gun? 😏 NBT ... Nothing But Trouble

I've had a few ladies smile and wave at me but that's just because I'm so friendly in a non creepy and all inclusive way. but unless it's at a seedy pickup joint I don't think anything else is going on.
travelguy01 · 41-45, M
I tend to ignore people in public. Silly humans.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
It’s just so cringe. Why do they act this way?
