Just an observation concerning something I'm sick of hearing

There are several people around me who keep telling me America needs another civil war. Seemingly hoping it would happen.

Can't help but notice all of them have nice homes and property, good incomes, fairly well set for retirement when it comes, take multiple nice vacations every year and have young adult children just starting out in the world.

If they actually got their wish they'd spend every minute praying things would go back to normal.

A lot of people these days are talking about a revolution. As usual these people have never seen war or been shot at. And finally no well fed well housed population has ever risen up in revolt.
@Musicman Exactly, they go after each other

@Musicman As we see here in SW, rabid political tribalism is at an all time high, whoever wins the election in a few weeks will determine just how bad it gets.

@NativePortlander1970 I agree. If Trump wins do you think the left will peacefully hand over power?
@Musicman I can see BinBiden declaring matrial law, suspending the Constitution, and then setting antifa into the cities that will make the summer of 2020 look like a cake walk.

@NativePortlander1970 That seems dismal. ☹
@Musicman As my paternal Grandfather told me when I was 18, hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

@NativePortlander1970 We have all heard that one before and it is sound wisdom.
@Musicman Yet too many ignore it, because the status quo deceived them into becoming complacent and comfortable.

@NativePortlander1970 Exactly! That's why no well fed well housed population has ever risen up.
@Musicman Yet during revolutions and civil wars they're always the first ones targeted and hauled before Citizen Courts, France during the late 18th century, and Spain during the 1930's, were the worst examples alongside China 1949, Cuba 1959, and Russia 1917.

@NativePortlander1970 That is definitely true. ☹ The little guy always loses.
@Musicman To be very honest, I wouldn't exactly call the complacent middle and upper middle class the little guys, the little guys are those of us that have always struggled to keep our heads above water, the forgotten ones that slipped through the cracks because no one cared to check on us.

@NativePortlander1970 I was referring to everyone who isn't super wealthy and isn't a politician. Everyone else is canon fodder. ☹
@Musicman Too true
