Fake Friday - Emily Pellegrini

This week's rabbit hole took me to this photo and person - Emily Pellegrini. What's fake? You'll need to page down...

Emily is not a real person. She's an AI generated model. She has an IG and Fanvue. Evidently, the people who manage her constantly get msgs from celebs, sports figures, and wealthy individuals looking to meet up.

If one looks closely, AI generated images have flaws. You could tell when the neck is too long in proportion to the face., or that the hands are strange looking.

But when the image has boobs and a pretty face, that’s where most people focus their eyes on. They want to believe what they see.

That's about 80% of the men on here, so you're dead on.

It’s like watching a magic show. One has to be willing to ‘believe’ it. Otherwise what’s the point of watching? 😂

If one chooses to watch, they choose to believe.

@CookieCrumbs That's so true. Or they're mesmerized by the pic and want it to be true, like a fantasy. 🤣

They do a great job making it look so real, however, there are a few noticeable flaws.

In the age of AI, how is one to know the difference between real and fake?
@Quimliqer That's the million dollar question. As the tech advances, it will be more difficult. In addition, that tech will be more readily available to more people. What looks obvious now, may not in the future. Attention getters are one thing, we all know dang well people will use it for nefarious reasons.

It may be fake, but you have to admit it's good.
@novaguy2u It is, and if you asked me to ID what is fake, I might have a challenge. There is a "tell" however.

@jshm2 For sure, the thing is you miss the spontaneity and possibility of error. That missed note, irritating feedback, etc. Not to mention, being in the front rows and having Elvis throw a sweaty scarf into the audience.
