Yes. I, too, know this to be true. One of his most poignant songs, I think, and one I've loved since I was young....and he wrote when he was young. It's the song that gained him another life-long fan, in me.

My friend taught me " please dont bury me" as a campfire song, not knowing who the author was. I soon found out though, and started looking up more of John Prine's music...before the days of the www of course.
