Life sometimes gives us hope...

Trump was found guilty... again. A fine of $83.3 million was levied.

Made my Friday and helped me start out Saturday with a smile.

Where does that money go?

@AlchemyFox E. Jean Carroll, the woman he raped, was found guilty of sexual assault against, and who he defamed and slandered her after he was found guilty.

I'm sure he will appeal, but even then, he has to come up with 20% of it to file the appeal.

Carroll has stated over and over she doesn't care about or need the money, she simply wanted justice for herself and women everywhere.

@AlchemyFox If she ever sees a dime of it a large chunk will go to her lawyers.

she'll likely face a huge tax bill for those damages — and it's all thanks to a law that Trump signed when he was president, according to legal-settlement experts.

Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017, and it went into effect in January 2018.

The measure gave everyone a larger standard deduction, but the law took away the ability for plaintiffs to deduct legal fees in many types of cases, including defamation cases, so the government wouldn't lose too much in revenue.
