Couldyou imagine if all throughout humanity's existence some more advanced civilizations have been

Monitoring us from deep space, waiting for us to reach a certain level of development to introduce us to their knowledge?

Imagine if they're out there like "I can't wait until they stop fighting each other and fix reach tier 1 civilization status"

“The Three Body Problem” by Cixin Liu is a massive, three-volume scyfy novel. There’s a whole lot to it but one element is horrifying. It’s called the Dark Forest Theory. Basically it suggests the the universe is filled with sentient civilizations but as soon as one develops enough to come to the attention of another it gets attacked and likely destroyed.

The universe is a deadly dangerous place and every civilization in it is hell bent on destroying any other it sees as a threat.

That might make a good sci-fi movie but it is silly in reality. The distances are simply too great, and in space, distance equals thousands of years. And humans have only been intelligent for less than 100 years.

If I were to monitor humans, I wouldn't do it from deep space. I would do it right here on earth. Insects would make a good vehicle for monitoring humans, like a fly on the wall.
