I Believe In Equal Rights

My mom and dad are elderly and very wise people. If you talk to them, they can tell you about traditional gender roles in 1950's and 60's Mexico. Sadly, women are still not treated with much respect over there. A few quotes from Wikipedia:
Mexican women face discrimination and at times harassment from the men exercising machismo against them.

As of 2014, Mexico has the 16th highest female homicide rate in the world.

Although women comprise half the Mexican population, they are generally absent from the highest ranks of political power.
sounds more like Oklahoma.

This is the still the norm in a lot of places. It's just that we claim to have advanced with age but some are still held back by the "cultures" they were brought up in.
