Multiple jobs, a supportive family, nepotism, or sheer luck.

If you know what you want, there may be an associate's program that you can take to help land you a decent job

😚@HalfCactus: - Good enough for single people, but a single parent needs time with the children.... Work smarter, not harder or longer!
The advice farther above: Attend a college & train for business or whatever is your passion; then with the training go for a business loan and start up with a couple of trustworthy people who can spell you off when sick days come or you just need a 'mental health' day.

On a personal note: I have financed (not large sums) my nephews on their ventures BUT I had the business agreements to back up the loans so if things do go 'sideways' I would have protection & first grabs at a bankruptcy (just like the banks do). This way I could offer them loans at a lower interest rate and at more flexible terms for repayment. Question: Do you have a rich uncle??
