How come those that had a lot of help are so (judge-mental) hard on someone that had to go through it alone?

I thought it was the other way around but maybe I just think of all those people who want others to have a hard life because they had it hard themselves. Or they look down on some because they had to go through a very bumpy road while some other people had everything served on a silver platter.
