What's the deal with chicken and antibiotics?

Any animals raised for food, especially in artificial environments, is liable to collective disease and pests.

Those who get bacterial infections can often be innocculated against them

Livestock raised in crowded confinement often have antibiotics in their feed as a prophylactic to infection. Not exactly the chicken we should be eating.

Sounds like something Seinfeld would ask
