I worked hard today

Lots of cleaning. Turned down a big tip for it too. I want and need the money but The lady has cancer, getting chemo, husband in hospital for kidney transplant. I just couldn鈥檛 take that much from them.
After a nap, I worked on my house, then shopped for some one else And unloaded the stuff (barely a thanks for that)
Highlight of the day was seeing my son walking with a smile to greet me at his place of work when i happened to be there. 馃グ

Tonight I want to feel like i did that night- a full, good day.

@Stuffy You can feel that way any day you need to by remembering what you did and how it made you feel.

@windinhishair And try to replicate it. Can鈥檛 stand on laurels they say AND i know it鈥檚 true. Life isn鈥檛 stagnant, need new accomplishments everyday

@Stuffy @Stuffy While you cannot rest on your laurels, there is nothing wrong with reflecting on a job well done in the past.

I live just south of one of the Great Lakes within an area that gets lake effect snow off the lake in the winter. You?

@windinhishair i agree. It鈥檚 said when you feel stuck and don鈥檛 know what to do, look to a past, even most recent accomplishment, and build from that, pick up where you left off.
It makes sense because for one you鈥檒l feel good about what you did then and that will encourage you. And it鈥檚 a reasonable thing to do because it鈥檚 something you are likely to be competent at since you have had some success at it already.

Yes I鈥檓 near the Great Lakes. Very familiar with the term lake effect snow. We all had a doozie this past year huh?
windinhishair61-69, M
@Stuffy As long as you are progressing, there are multiple ways to get there.

We usually have at least one storm every year where we get 18 inches or more. This past year we didn't, though we have had up to 43 inches in 24 hours. I think this winter will be relatively cold and snowy. I've got my firewood laid in and I'm ready.

@windinhishair do you heat by wood furnace. We are moving into an electric furnace house but there鈥檚 a fire place- i hope the landlord says it鈥檚 safe to use it 馃 馃敟

@Stuffy I heat with a combination of fuel oil and wood stove. The woodstove is a Norwegian Jotul which puts out a lot of heat. I've had winters where I went through less than 200 gallons of fuel oil. I stack 12 to 15 face cords of wood for the winter, and have additional wood I can cut late in winter if I am starting to run short. There is nothing like the warmth of a wood fire and the sound of crackling wood to take the chill out.
