I'm curious what you guys think of NFT projects focused on crowdfunding for different NGOs

Hey hey. New to the forum.
My name is Denis and I'm working on an NFT project focused on donating the majority of the raised funds to several NGOs focused on helping endangered animals. (Not sure if it's a good idea to post the link to our side directly, mainly looking for opinions. Might share the website if someone shows interest)
I'm very curious what the community thinks of NFTs and the potential use cases for the technology.

I consider NFTs from a base level up to be a scam. Crypto by itself is an excessively questionable thing to invest into, as it isn't really true stock. NFTs are just lazy people using AI generated things to steal money from others and they get nothing in return. You are literally paying for nothing.

And no, "the privilege to view something" isn't something at all. If I wanted something like that, I'd visit an art museum. At least then I know I'm not being ripped off for thousands and thousands of dollars. If I'm going to spend that much money on something, it better be something physical that I can make use of, or be a ticket for moving with my partner. Nothing else will suffice.

I prefer to donate directly to the NGOs of my choice.
I like to check an organisation out, see its audited annual budget, know who is paid for what and see evidence of the results.
Not checking on these things ahead of time is a risk. Some charities are fronts for fraud. One has to be extremely careful with all things online.
I don't give to crowdfunding ventures because there is no proof that the money goes where it claims.

@Tracos Exactly why we started the project. We wanted to show the world that NFTs can be used for a wide range of use cases and not just randomly generated AI pictures.

NFTs are a ludicrous and uneeded concept at their core. A borderline scam. I hope everyone invloved in this NFT nonsense has an aneurysm after losing everything they own.

@MethDozer But why are they a scam? Just because there is a small amount of people stealing people's art and try to resell them as NFTs doesn't mean that the whole NFT concept in itself is a waste of time or a complete scam.

@MarkedLetter It's a glorified ponzi scheme and an answer to a question that was never asked. They offer nothing on reality. A complete scam seems an accurate description.
