im not sure airplanes take that way. they would fly above the sea i think

@pikminboy yeah airplanes dont take straight lines they fly with the wind etc
@pikminboy ...they use Great Circle routes when they can, which is what @Milkshake is pointing out.

National airspace access, etc., does screw with this.
