Nope, for example getting a service charge on top of every drink makes them so expensive.
We just don't do that in the UK and even when an optional tip is auto added it's always no more than 12.5%

No. I'm from a country where we pay waiters a proper wage. So they aren't dependent on tips.

We tip for good service, not as some kind of hidden charge. I usually do tip, though. Not always 15%, but remember, this is genuinely extra for them.

@Abstraction That's how it should be, really.
No. This may sound like a crazy concept, but in the Netherlands waiters get paid a living wage for doing their job and tips are considered a reward for service beyond that.
That no was a bit too strong. I often do round up the bill for waiters and waitresses who offer information beyond the menu and those who improve my mood by making jokes or being kind. For more than half of cafe visits this is the case, so I do tip more often than not. But I don't bother with percentages and don't feel guilty to only pay for my food and drinks when that's all I get because a living wage for personnel is already included in that price.

If I don't leave at least 15%, then the service was very bad.

At the very least, yes. The few exceptions have been, when the waitperson was clearly not even trying to provide good service. Having been employed as a waitperson myself, I have that perspective of when a server is responsible or not, for a not good experience in a restaurant.

Depends where you live. Tipping is not a universal convention.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Yes.
It's a tough job and many Waiters/Waitresses make minimum wage or less if their employers are unscrupulous, so i always tip.
Adamski24 · 41-45, M
No, i only tip if the service deserves it.
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
if I'm Rich. 15% seems too much. maybe 5% or 8
MOONAMONA86 · 36-40, F

More for good service or good personality, but less for rotten service and butt head attitude.

No. I always sneak out the back door after I'm finished eating.
