I have spider plants in my apartment. I was given them as gifts, and I like the variegated green and white one best. They have a unique quality...they remove toxins from the air. They are not poisonous for animals, and when my cat has a tummy ache he eats little bits of the "babies" that hang down from the mother plant, and then he throws up. I did check their toxicity for cats, and apparently cats find them mildly euphoric.
