Saying all lives matter is a bit like interrupting martin luther king's speech to tell him what a fascinating dream you had last night.

I agree with you. The people saying that all lives don’t matter because BLM do are ridiculous. They don’t realize the white privilege they have.
vorian · 51-55, M
@iamonfire696 thanks... it doesnt hurt to acknowledge white privilege...just the empathy to put yourself in someone elses shoes for 5 minutes. You get it. ✌️
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@vorian I am a white woman and have so much privilege. I don’t need to be worried if I get stopped by the police.
Crazymatt · 31-35, M
@iamonfire696 what a shite argument
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Crazymatt so you are a racist then?
Crazymatt · 31-35, M
@iamonfire696 no, im just dont believe in a victim mindset....get and education and conduct yourself in a respectable manner and you have nothing to worry about. Life a gang lifestyle and make bad choices and deal with them. There are planty of broke, in trouble white peopel as well. Its a patgetic argument only brought on yo seperate us
MeisterAndrew · 41-45, M
@Crazymatt Yup, and then we always get the same cards played like the racist one if you don't agree. Privilege isn't a colour. There are white people born into privilege but then there are also black people born into privilege.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Crazymatt Who said anything about gangs or victims.

Clearly you think black people run in gangs because you brought that up.

You have white privilege you just proved that.

If I got stopped by police with a burned out brake light I wouldn’t worry. Black people have to worry. Do you live under a rock?

That’s called white privilege. Just because you don’t believe it exists doesn’t mean that it’s not a thing.

MeisterAndrew · 41-45, M
@iamonfire696 He has a good point which I mentioned. Gangs are a big part of it and black people themselves complain of it. Now turn this all around. You walk through a neighbourhood of white people. Now you go on and walk through a neighbourhood of black only people. Do you not feel more anxiety? Would you not feel safer as a black person?

Surely there's something causing that. You see on the news black people involved in gangsterism. It's said that police are more "violent" towards black people but crime statistics are also disproportionate for black people. All of that has an effect and it has an effect on society and how we behave.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@MeisterAndrew you still don’t seem to understand that white privilege is real
Crazymatt · 31-35, M
@iamonfire696 why because you say its real? There is no privilege...there are groups that may get discriminated against at a higher rate....but the idea of you having privileges bc of being white is absurd. Tell that to the whites that get nowhere in life that come from nothing.

Your argument is invalid bc all groups and walks of life expirience poverty and lack of opportunities. Hell in todays time, minorities have more opportunities getting to go school cheaper if not free and loads of opportunities. Understand opportunities are not promised to everyone and sometimes you have to find or make your opportunities. Anybody in this country with determination and grit can make it to a better life!
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Crazymatt your argument is that it’s not real because you say it isn’t.

You’re ridiculous.
MeisterAndrew · 41-45, M
@iamonfire696 It's real in some people's minds. Black privilege is also real. How is it that if white privilege is real everything is the exact opposite here? Not you or anybody else want to address that but you continue hand waving. No there is only individual privilege and not according to colour lines.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@MeisterAndrew where do you live that you have never experienced this?

Clearly you can’t put yourself in someone else’s place. Imagine being a black man in the USA where police officers will kill you because of the colour of your skin.

You are ignorant if you think it only exists in some peoples minds.
Crazymatt · 31-35, M
@iamonfire696 with that logic your argument is that it is real because you say its real....smh
Crazymatt · 31-35, M
Cops dont just shoot blacks at traffic stops for the absolute hell of it. More officers are shot by blacks at traffic stops than other races. Therefore it holds a merit of expectations of danger. If any races is calm amd collected at a stop or in public they are at no risk whatsoever. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes....regardless of skin color
MeisterAndrew · 41-45, M
@iamonfire696 You are projecting. It is you who are not able to put yourself in someone else's shoes to see the bigger picture.

Again to prove my point I have just watched the news where a black woman is accused of racism towards blacks. Despite the fact that she will probably be prosecuted on indirect evidence they are protesting that she leaves the country. She's already branded and found guilty.

Meanwhile there are hundreds of worse posts from black people on social media calling for worse against white people. Guess what, none of them are even charged with any crime. This is YOUR white privilege.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@MeisterAndrew You’re ridiculous and you don’t understand what it means.
MeisterAndrew · 41-45, M
@iamonfire696 More hand waving.
@MeisterAndrew She’s right, though. You don’t even come close to understanding the differences. 🙄
vorian · 51-55, M
@iamonfire696 he doesnt understand it... its like talking to a child.
vorian · 51-55, M
@iamonfire696 hes not necessarily a racist... but definitely a bit dim.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Crazymatt have you not heard of red lining? Education depends generally on where you live, better communities, better education. The kids live in poverty, undernourished, get exposed to toxins more than affluent kids and are therefore at a disadvantage even before they get into any school. Go see the movie: They Ain't Ready For Me.
MeisterAndrew · 41-45, M
@bijouxbroussard Now where is the rolleyes reaction to this if one was ever needed.
MeisterAndrew · 41-45, M
@samueltyler2 Nobody is denying that but it's not a racial thing or it would be across the board. That there are numerous counter examples shows that privilege and disadvantage doesn't follow racial lines. Life doesn't go "oh you were born white so now you're going to be given everything". That is the only thing that could be regarded as white privilege.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard He sure doesn’t understand at all.
