Nothing wrong with fixing something that makes you unhappy. Who am I to judge?
Peapod · 61-69, F
I had my nose broken, so to get it fixed a few years later was a happy day for me. I also needed major sinus surgery, so it was all done at one time. Not only can I now breathe through my nose, it looks normal again. 🙂

@Peapod that’s great :) hope u feeling much better :)
Peapod · 61-69, F
@Lostandfound46 Best thing I ever did. I was surprised at how well I recovered. I had a great surgeon.
Lostandfound46 · F
@Peapod aw that’s nice to hear :) and to have a great outcome

I think it’s often given children with birth defects, accident victims a new lease on life. In that regard it’s miraculous.
In terms of adults needing an ego boost, it’s a personal choice—and a risk.

I used to think that cosmetic surgery was shallow and that I would never get it myself for non medical reasons.
I have changed my position although I still might not ever get it.
People have only one life to live and should do what makes them happy.
But a balance is needed. For some people it is never enough and they kill themselves with surgical enhancements.
Also plastic surgery will usually not boost self esteem long term. You must accept yourself then you can improve but if you seek beauty as a means to love yourself then you will fail.

If it helps making people feel better I’m all for it 👍🏼

@SW-User but sometime it comes with heavy price

@Lostandfound46 very true. Both my mom and sister did plastic surgery and it looks great on both of them. My sis had a large nose and now it’s a cute little nose and she’s super happy about it. She doesn’t regret it one bit

unless needed to repair damage caused by burns or a car accident, I find it to be a waste of money and a sign of weakness..

🙋 Mickey Rourke 😬🤪

@Montanaman That was so sad...and he was quite handsome in the beginning of his career.

I think it has has been a life changing surgery for countless individuals, for good or bad. Even if a plastic surgery procedure has been solely "aesthetic", I think it's just fine...if it actually does lead to a person feeling better about facing the world.
For an unnecessary surgery someone must have huge emotional issues/zero self worth or be a vain sociopath to perform or receive such "treatment." Sometimes accidents happen though, in those cases plastic surgery can attempt to put the pieces back together and helps a lot of people. Children born with cleft pallets, cancer survivors, etc.

@lovelywarpedlemon well said...
@Lostandfound46 idk how to rationalize it but that's me
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
I'm not a fan of cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery, however, can be essential for some people to get their lives back.
MissTaken · 36-40, F
Fine for serious medical reasons but not for personal vanity reasons
Lostandfound46 · F
@MissTaken I agree ☝️
Carissimi · F
Unless you have a medical disfigurement, I think it’s insane to have it before 50. I haven’t had it, and don’t intend to, but I can understand 50 + wanting it, but younger than this is ridiculous. You don’t realize how beautiful you are when young. Wait for when you actually need a little help.
Lostandfound46 · F
@Carissimi don’t scare me 😔😔😔 I am always scared to be old 🙄
Carissimi · F
You are far from old. Why did what I said scare you?@Lostandfound46
Lostandfound46 · F
@Carissimi just the thought of being old scares me .. although I work really hard to eat well and exercise .. and I look much younger for my age but every now and than I do think 🤔 about it .. I know I cannot stop ageing but it is scary 😰

The people in my family need eye lifts when they get older because of an eye problem. I'm thankful I can have that done when I need it.
TexChik · F
What procedure are you considering

TexChik · F
@Lostandfound46 they do add instant Change . Lots of my friends do it . I had a lift after I finished breast feeding and a labiectomy . They are really good
Lostandfound46 · F
@TexChik sometime people go over it and they lose their life 😔
TexChik · F
@Lostandfound46 pretty rare. Stick with a board certified plastics doc . Go interview a few ( consults)

Remember Kenny Rodgers? Now there was a cautionary tale!

I think it's plastic surgery.
Sometimes the outcome is great. Sometimes the outcome is horrifying.

Stupid but if that's what it takes to make you happy.
bijouxbroussard · F
@RedwoodBarman Shall we be grownups and end this now ?
RedwoodBarman · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard I'm a petty person so you'll have to be the grown up this time. I'm curious if you can.
bijouxbroussard · F
@RedwoodBarman Easy. Bye.
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
Up to the individual, I personally would not unless I had an accident and required it.
