Why are you assuming we're all mortal here?

You are thinking with your glass half empty. You got to experience another year which hopefully included more new cool experiences, hopefully you are wiser each year and many people everyday who were born the exact same time as you are now dead. As you get older you will hear of more and more people who you have some type of connection to dying. You are looking foward to the new year as well. Stop fearing death.

Life taken away? Maybe if I was one of those poor people who full into a coma and come out 20 years later and didn't experience the passage of time.

Its about surviving another year
