I'm not a big fan of Mr. Trump, but I think this time he's right. He is not "downplaying" anything, as far as I can see. There's absolutely no reason for panicking. At my local supermarket, toilet paper is sold out because people are crazy. Rice and pasta are sold out. People are hoarding long-life food. They are destroying supply chains. (Europe here)
PS I've seen a terrible video about three ladies screaming and fighting over a pack of toilet paper, somewhere in Australia.

@helenS he completely cut americas ability to deal properly with a pandemic...and publicly disagrees with scientific advice...making his own figures up. Hardly a good job.
