I can't WAIT until meat-substitutes become the norm rather than the exception, can't you?

We're getting better and better at making delicious, convincing meat-substitutes and these subtitutes are only going to get better and cheaper.
So if you could eat a delicious beyond meat burger or a crispy chicken substitute, if you could enjoy "meat" without having to take life to do it....why wouldn't you?

Because I enjoy the taste and texture of dead animals and they are good for me unlike modified cornstarch and other random chemicals.
it's just my personal preference, you are more than welcome to carry on as you are, it would be nice if you could show me the same respect I have shown you.

But that's the point of meat substitutes. That is what they are reproducing without having to take life in order to do so.
I have personally (as a meat eater) enjoyed delicious chickenless chicken nuggest, beyond meat burgers and fish fillets that not only taste like fish but have that chunky/flaky fish texture.

As for the disparagement regarding chemicals and them not being good for you...well are you basing that on knowledge or are you basing that on what you imagine to be the case?

@Pikachu unfortunately knowledge,my brother is a chemical engineer in the food industry, just talking about real chicken formed chicken is essentially meat pulp held together with a mix of natural starches and chemical starches that are not in any way food.
it turns out butter is better for you than any fake butters or margarine.
what we're being told is profit driven and has nothing to do with health.
@Johnblackthorn

So there's a difference between bad for you and not as good for you.
Are these meat substitutes bad for you?
Johnblackthorn · 56-60, M
@Pikachu yes there is a difference between not as good for and bad for, as far as I'm aware the meat substitutes are not bad for you as long as you're getting the vitamins not found in plants b12 being one of the most important ones.
@Johnblackthorn

That's my understanding as well.
