What was the latest good deed you done?

My neighbour is about 70. He fell and broke his hip 8 months ago.
No one visits him. We sit outside in the evening and natter away, as you do.
With this extremely hot weather we are having I bought him a Pedestal fan to help him keep cool.
I told him someone threw it out and I salvaged it.
People throwing stuff out happens often around here.

Brilliant. I love the way you protect his dignity by saying you salvaged it. Any Aussie would be ok with that.

Oh I didn't answer. Yesterday I saw this woman I knew looked distressed. I asked her if she was ok. She promptly fell into tears and told me what was wrong. I'm really comfortable with tears, so it was just a small thing to let her walk through the issue.

@Abstraction Well done.
So many people simply want someone to listen to them.
But very few people actually ask the question, "Are you okay" because they really do not want to know.

@Gusman You spend half your life trying to keep your head above water. When you end up in the lifeboat, doing ok, least you can do is put out a hand for someone else.

@Abstraction Agreed. One does not have to be flush to lend a helping hand.
Do it quietly but do it all the same.
