Do you only do things that make you happy?

Why would you do something that.makes you feel guilty?
SW-User
Responsibilities. Not guilty, but not exactly happy to do.

@Furiousfrog: That is I believe a kind of compulsion for people. Like a habit they cannot stop. I am pretty sure there is a medical term for it.

It happens that I do something that at the makes makes me happy or at least pleases me but that later make me feel guilty.

Going out of your comfort zone for example would make you uncomfortable.

you don't have to necessarily do anything to feel guilty...you just do

True. I just used gult as a example of a negative emotion.

So, why would we check out our ex boyfriend and girlfriends online only to feel heart broken?
As an adult, there are things you have to do sometimes that annoying or irritate your senses. Being a responsible person means you sometimes have to pass up instant pleasure for a longer more secure goal.

But aren't you just replacing immediate happiness for long term happiness?
@Furiousfrog: I learned that I have the power to be happy, regardless of outcomes.

Hmm.

That makes it seem like you disconnect yourself from the outside. So your world is the dame no matter what happens outside.

Sound accurate?
