I NEED SOMEONE CANADIAN TO HELP ME DIAL 9-1-1

My friend is planning to commit suicide in his apartment right now, and we need to call 9-11 to intervene, but I can't call because I'm not locally based in Canada.

He has just moved to Montreal, been trying to reach people who knew him to call, but I'm not getting through.

He's in Montreal, I'm in Singapore. We need someone to help...
If you're Canadian, and willing to make the call, please message me....

I don't know how long can we buy time... And obviously it doesn't look trustworthy for me to post here, but if you have any links or numbers I can call, please help.

UPDATE: I previously managed to call 514-280-0111, they asked me to call 9-1-1 which I can't obviously call. But they managed to follow up and the cops came over. They're bringing him to the hospital for a check up. (News from his wife, who's also helplessly in Singapore)

Thanks for being "helpful", internet. I knew it wasn't the best place to find help, but when it's an emergency; anything that comes into mind, I'll just do it.

I don't believe you

@snofan: People can't believe the internet, it's only natural but that's okay. I expected that.

calling the local police was the answer...they would have guided her...I still don't believe it

I wouldn't know it myself as I never had an emergency. I surely don't want blood in my hands. Anyways, it's not an issue if you don't believe it!

Thanks for a fitting response. I updated the post in case you'll like to know.

Just call your police department and they will call the relevant department for you.

Doesn't have to be local. They do have international contacts. And if you're telling me you don't know how to reach your local police, I call BS on this question

@plungesponge: Foreign terms, if you said local police hotline, I would understand better.

But yeah thanks, I managed to call another hotline, they did a follow up to the police, sent him to the hospital for a check-up.

The thing is, I didn't know how to source a hotline for that.

International operator didn't connect me to the Canadian emergency hotline. Found out somewhere on the internet that it wasn't possible unless you can find someone in Canada to call the hotline.

Best of luck.

@aiyana: For the time being, it's only going to buy some time, but that's about it. ><

Apparently you can only call 911 if you are based in the US. And that was my problem. Wouldn't get through.

I wasn't sure about calling my local police number, since it was a very peculiar emergency. :/
If there's a Canadian diplomatic mission open in .sg, it might be a good idea to start there, if this happens again
