If somebody says “after one mistake of having a baby....”

Are they implying that the baby is a mistake or having a baby in general is a mistake

Clearly...unless English is their second language and are hopeless in both.

@TurtlePink Thank you but I now see you were asking a bigger question...yes she is saying having a baby is a mistake PERIOD...by definition, something everyone can agree with. For example:

"Having made the mistake of driving drunk..."

"Having made the mistake of gambling away all my money..."

"Having made the mistake of letting my abusive bf back into my life..."

There is no question to the hearer that those are mistakes those are by definition mistakes...as in "the mistake of having a baby..."

I hope to God she puts the child up for adoption...I know a number of childless couples who would not consider having a baby to love and raise a "mistake".

Some people shouldn't be parents, others mean it because it is extremely hard being a parent but they love their children.
Having kids puts a lot into your life but it also takes alot away from your own life and can push you to breaking point.
I don't really understand why so many people have sex without contraception when they know they don't want to have a child

Maybe having unprotected sex was a mistake ?
