Probably just get a cylinder of nitrogen and breath that. As far as i'm aware without the CO2 build up the panic reflex won't occur so it's unnoticeable, fast and painless. My guess is that they don't use it for executions for this reason.

@Mattybthebest I remember being told about it during a class at Uni. The lecturer said that you'd be unconscious in as little as ten breaths. The subject came up because someone nearly died breathing helium during a party.
