I am an atheist, but this Bible verse has wisdom:

"He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."

ZenKitzune · F
Because there is no rule that says good deserves only good and bad deserves only bad.

@ZenKitzune really good way of looking at it.
If they are not God's child, then they have no resistance from Satan. He already has them. Gives them what they want, to keep them tied to worldly things, instead of God.
Because we live in a fallen world. We’re getting a glimpse of what this world looks like with sin in it and why we need Jesus.

Good people are easy targets for the bad as the good people trust and expect the truth from others. Bad people have no morals or soul and so can lie cheat and steal.

New flash for the day; new emails released today show that Obama was in cahoots with the FBI to make Trump look bad to keep him from getting elected and if he did get elected to get him out of office. Guess that shows how bad people get good people to trust them and make them think they are great when they are actually worthless and corrupt. Remember Benghazi and how Hillary and Obama both said it was a riot caused by a movie? When it was proven they actually knew it was terrorists before telling that to the public.
Good job. @acpguy

Joyful Silence is correct... but I'm not an atheist. The background to that verse is that we live in the regime of sin... so all of us are paying the price for our sins and those of other.

Thankfully.. it's not a permanent situation.

I was born into a christian family. Of course, one has to grow into it and make a specific decision to put one's faith in God and our Savior Jesus Christ - but I don't have a particular moment in time for that. That doesn't mean I haven't had moments of particular growth in my faith.
That is true, but I’m glad you made the distinction between growing up with a family who are followers of Christ, and salvation, because many would get the idea that since their family might have followed Jesus, then that means they were automatically grafted in as followers, as well, and that’s not what God’s Word says. It’s an individual commitment to Jesus, that counts.

@SW-User That’s exactly right, what you said about growing in faith. That is a lifetime position in Christ. We should be learning and growing in our faith, as we walk with Him each day.

I agree, the Clinton's got rich and they were rotten, Obama convinced a lot of stupid people he was great and even got the Nobel Peace Prize and did nothing to earn anything, others who were rotten also got rich and famous like Stalin, Hitler, the midget in North Korea to name a few. Yet when some do right and help they get criticized by the media, just look at Trump.

Two underlying reasons. Because bad people do things to good people... Or, because the Universe does not differentiate and doesnt care if you are good or bad. There are good Americans, lots of them.. Look whats happening to them..
The Universe doesn’t have a mind. No intelligence, but God does, and He cares. He’s letting people exercise choice and showing us what happens, given choice. There’s both evil and good, but the world seems to be getting more corrupt. He’s showing us why we need Him.

because they aren't all bad

@SW-User nope I don't agree with you

@Lorieta it's okay but I'll always hold out hope that noone is so useless and so bad that they don't deserve some kindness
they need it the most
Because life is random like that, with no guarantees that good will always be rewarded or bad always punished. Things just happen, with direct or indirect causes but no real reason behind them. 🤔
