How do you forgive someone who was dishonest with you?

I'm willing to give them another chance. But I never forget. Forgetting is not a necessary part of forgiveness, and somehow we as a species have been brainwashed into thinking it is. If you forget what somebody is capable of, you're giving them the opportunity to do it again. I'll forgive you, but my eyes are wide open when you are welcomed back into my life.
