End of the day, a black man was saying that he couldn't breathe and police didn't help. Weather autopsy's were changed, video angles or whatever, the police FAILED him.

And he died.

End of!

That's the story. The police failed a citizen of colour, and not the first.

@JasminD

Why couldn't he breath? He was od'ing on Fentynal.

Even if they were incompetant it's not a crime. Disgraceful all around for what happened to the officers

Railroading folks to create a narrative? I can't understand how you'd be proud of that
JasminD · 22-25, F
@Slade ...and the police have an OBLIGATION to protect all human life. They failed. They looked upon him as not even a human. Police failure to uphold that IS unlawful.

Respecting him? Seeing him as a martyr? No, just sadly one of many

😔

@JasminD End of the day a life long criminal with dozens of arrests attacked police officers who were trying to arrest him for his latest crime. During the heated struggle the drugs in this criminals system caused his heart to stop while he was being restrained causing his death. At the end of the day those are the facts!
Torsten · 36-40, M
@JasminD and if he didnt resist arrest, he would not have been on the ground and taken to police facility where he would have been treated for drug overdose.
Only the left would try and glorify that piece of shit criminal, and its only cause he was black. If he was white, none of you would of gave a shit
JasminD · 22-25, F
@Torsten I'm sure having an OD is not a case of just going 'Oh, I'm having an OD, please help!'.. Have you ever had one? Have you seen someone OD? Have you seen MANY people OD? I've seen a few. Etched on my brain. Not similar initial symptoms in the slightest.

Oh, and I ain't left....or I ain't right....I'm all about DOING RIGHT. And they didn't.

True that if a white guy was in the same situation then people wouldn't give a shit, but that's down to it not being the minority. We've had, as a race hundreds of years being discriminated against and some positive discrimination FOR us black people is the least that you can do.

Want someone to blame? How about your ancestors!

Torsten · 36-40, M
@JasminD so you admit you only care about this due to the guys race? wow the self rightious act, really doesnt work after actually admitting that nonsense.

Ohh my ancestors to blame for a criminal overdosing himself and resisting arrest? nah my dead ancestors had nothing to do with that.

You're not about doing right at all. You're about pandering to races that are not white. There is a word for that actually.

and yeah btw i have seen people OD and whatever happened to them was their own fault, the blame does not go to others if they could not save them in time. Sorry but in the real world, you're only responsible for your own actions and not the actions of others
JasminD · 22-25, F
@Torsten Did I say that? No, I didn't. Pandering to my race? Well, if that's all that we see then, yes I will happily pander to it. The media shows what it shows. If it's not being made aware of, by being seen, then how could people know?

Far from being a racist or xenophobic, I care about all people - my family have a history of protesting for CND, for example - and things that affect their world. Our world.

I do NOT have to justify myself to you or to anyone with their narrow mindedness and anti-humanistic approach to their lives. You're the racist.

@JasminD Excuse me! YOUR ancestors sold slaves to Europeans and Americans that they captured in Africa!
JasminD · 22-25, F
@Nitedoc EVERYONE is part of that chain of events.
JasminD · 22-25, F
@Torsten Hmmm, so coming from a mixed race family I am suppose to be racist? Wow! That is rich!

Idiot!
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@JasminD I'm glad you realize that.
JasminD · 22-25, F
@Nitedoc We've always known that there's people that will exploit their own for money or for power. Sadly, that still goes on. My original comment was, regardless of George taking so much drugs or that the officer did kneel on his neck, it is the police's JOB to help save lives, not to not get him attention when he said that he couldn't breathe.

...and from all that I get called a racist?!?

There's so much hatred on either side - black people convinced that white people are out to get them, white people that, boringly, keep using the 'woke' term about their political leaders.

It's all rubbish.

I'd rather have a more level playing field for not only black and white people, but men and women, alongside those of different races and nationality.

That's the dream. That's the goal.

@JasminD Well said. ☮️
ChadJNSD · 31-35, M
@JasminD Why is it a “person of color”, why not just a “person”? That is what keeps the trouble going, is that tired racial narrative.
Slade · 56-60, M
@ChadJNSD person of color is terrible grammar. It should be colored person
ChadJNSD · 31-35, M
@Slade Colored should not be included at all…just a person.
Slade · 56-60, M
@ChadJNSD I know but the left sees EVERYTHING through race. Completely racially obsessed like ...racists
JasminD · 22-25, F
@ChadJNSD Why not a 'Person'? Human nature, sweetheart, to describe an individual on something that you can 'hook' their own identity on. So, for example, 'the guy with the big nose', 'the petite lady', 'that young kid in the shorts' etc.

We describe someone or something to differentiate it from other people or inanimate objects - just like YOUR Left and Right...

'Person of colour' is just the same. Just like 'Black woman' or 'Indian guy'. Same dog, different haircut!
