Chauvin committed first degree murder of Floyd and it was all on videotape for the world to see. The DA had a record of letting the slave patrollers get away with murder. Chauvin and Floyd knew each other and Chauvin probably thought that Floyd has been screwing his wife, which would explain the personal nature of the murder.

When someone sees a slave patroller killing a person in that way, why wouldn't it be justified homicide to shoot the cop to save the life of his victim? Isn't that the way it works in all other similar instances?

"The concept of justifiable homicide in criminal law is a defense to culpable homicide (criminal or negligent homicide). Generally, there is a burden to produce exculpatory evidence in the legal defense of justification.

In most countries, a homicide is justified when there is sufficient evidence to disprove the alleged criminal act or wrongdoing (under the beyond a reasonable doubt standard for criminal charges, and preponderance of evidence standard for claims of wrongdoing, i.e. civil liability).[citation needed] The key to this legal defense is that it was reasonable for the subject to believe that there was an imminent and otherwise unavoidable danger of death or grave bodily harm to the innocent by the deceased, when they committed the homicide."

Lots of people simply love it when Slave Patrollers murder Black citizens. They really miss the 1820s when Blacks were not citizens and had no rights in America.

Yes, those murdering Slave Patrollers were certainly idiots for thinking that they could commit first degree murder in front of the world thinking that the usual ass-kissers would cover for them as usual when they murder a Black man in America. Things are changing, even if it is slow.

@Diotrephes Every intelligent person out there knows this is just another case of reverse discrimination against Mr. Chauvin.
