We're just gonna sweep my assistant's transgressions under the rug for now...

I talked it over with my two bosses and we've decided we're not going to confront Amber on her calling out all last week and lying about being unable to check in with the clinic (possibly lying about being sick too). At least not yet... What we're gonna do is have her fill out some FMLA paperwork, because she's out of PTO, and figure things out from there. Until then, it's just business like usual. But there could be a very real possibility that she might not be working here much longer. Especially if she calls out again. I told my other assistant Bryanna to just not bring it up right now and carry on like normal. So, things are still uncertain on what we're gonna do with Amber. I only hope for her sake that she gets herself sorted out, whatever she has going on, and that she's able to keep working here. But I'm personally going to be wary of her now. I still like her and would love to keep her around, but I don't consider her very reliable anymore. I'll wait until we sit down and talk with her about this, if ever, before I disclose any of my concerns with her. If and when I do, I only hope that'll motivate her to get her act together and built my trust back up. We shall see.

Better to go by the book. Gives her a chance to either deal with it or find a way out of the job. Puts it back in her hands with the fmla.
