Tbh that’s why I don’t really want to be here anymore. It’s nothing but one massive popularity contest and that’s been old for a really long time. The gossip, the snide side comments, the inside jokes…it’s so stupid. Who tf wants to be queen/king of the losers?

I came across SW like I imagine many of us did... a Google search for something I now can't remember, saw the link and there I was, and here I be.

I had no intention of creating a clique and still don't want to be in a clique - mine or someone else's. I think what I think, say what I say, post and comment as the mood strikes me and you like whatever content I come up with, you don't like it or sometimes you do and sometimes you don't. I'm not going to stay or go because of something someone else says or does, or for any reason other than I want to. I don't give control over what I do to anyone.

I do like certain people, which I believe is like most of the the rest of us - we like who we like. Trolls I often don't recognize, at least not right off the bat, and if I respond to a troll... oh well, it happens and I'm not going to lose any sleep over it or let that instance rent space in my head.

I do realize that I am in a clique of sorts. Not one of my making, but one that comes with being older and male. So be it and I do try to respect that clique and insofar as possible, stay in that lane. I may slip in and out on occasion but you can deal with that or not. Again, you do you and I'll do me.

Block me, mute me, ignore me, stab me in the back or don't. Nothing anyone does impacts my choice about staying or going and I would hope you don't let others make decisions (by their actions), for you.

I mostly block extremists and fascists this year. Yeah, some of them used to be something like friends. I don't give a f**k, I'm not going to tolerate that crap. If someone turns out to support something that could directly harm me and other people who didn't do anything wrong, I don't care who they are, I dump them like dirty socks.

As for people who are infamous to others, I don't see a reason why I couldn't interact with them if they post something interesting, that alone doesn't make me their friend. Not that I knew who hates who on here in the first place...

Though not here very much I log in expecting the usual selection: the sticking out of tongues on the political postings, the mindless thirsty men, the mindless thirsty men posing as lesbians, yada yada yada. Then there are the specks of light that make the site enjoyable. It's a mixed bag I suppose but such is Similar Worlds.

To hell with them. I’ve seen such individuals engage in their inexcusably toxic behavior right in front of their friends and they just turned a blind eye to it. If they block someone who is an actual good person, good riddance to them. They’re not too far off from the POS they’re choosing to side with.
