What I love about sports is how it brings the world together, just like art and music does. What I don't like about it is if they involve in it greed, religion, politics, and hate.

My favorite sport: Figure skating

No offense to those who like it but this is a sport(Curling) I find really funny 🤭☺️

@LilMissAnonyMOUSE I have only seen one curling match, in a leisure-centre I'd visited with others to use the swimming-pool.

The curling scoring system was described on a poster in the changing-rooms, and its diagrams looked liked something from a text-book on trigonometry and geometry. Yes, it is amusing to see, but we can also appreciate just how skilled it must be to play.

I saw a curling-stone being used as a door stop, and I couldn't resist trying its weight, simply lifting it a little. It is Heavy with a capital H!
@ArishMell oh no question about it, some skill is definitely needed to do that.

@LilMissAnonyMOUSE I did a lot of work for a while with Olympic figure skaters. I had a passing interest in it before I started which pretty much means the Olympics every four years. The first day I got down to the ice for a training session I could NOT BELIEVE what I was seeing. The speed, strength, guts and commitment was absolutely mind blowing. And that entire "skating is silly and for girls" thing went right out the window. They are SERIOUS athletes.
@Ynotisay I totally agree with you, they are serious athletes. Figure skating training starts at a very very young age, around 6 , 7 years old. Its many years of commitment to want to get to the top and competition level. I wanted to be a figure skater but life took me towards a different path, so my love for it has been something I've had for a long time.
