Do you get compliments about your looks from random people?

I had one (from a guy in a shop) about a hat I was wearing.

That's it in my recent memory. Women don't compliment normal non-high-value guys on their appearance at least not in my experience as a normal average guy.

I'm too scared for the most part to give other people compliments about their looks. Women would consider such to be offensive if they don't immediately feel attracted to me, so I just internalise thoughts of attraction that I might have and never act on them.
