why do i seek validation from men

i noticed i tend to seek out compliments from men when in reality, the person who should love themselves the most is myself.

i feel so lost in myself that i have lost my morals and self respect just by seeking compliments from men. it’s such a temporary solution to this feeling and i want to change. i want to start loving myself and how i look. i want to start loving the person that i deserve to be

Why is it wrong to enjoy validation from men? Are you not attracted to men? Do you not wish them to find you attractive as well?

@DarthInvader do you enjoy validation from men then?
DarthInvader · 36-40, M
@basilfawlty89 Of course. I've always had a naturally masculine build. I've had a few guys notice my build. That was nice.

I'm confused what that has to do with this post though...

@DarthInvader Reread my post then

@summalovin I’ve read what you wrote, but I’m unclear as to whether you feel that seeking compliments from men is wrong in itself, or is it more about the way you sometimes seek that validation, in ways that you feel compromise your morals or self-respect? If you’re a straight woman, it makes sense that you’d want compliments from men, that’s a natural part of attraction.

@DarthInvader I obviously do like getting complimented by guys but what i meant was i feed off of those compliments instead genuinely knowing i am funny, kind, etc

@summalovin This is completely normal for someone your age still navigating adulting. The fact that you’re aware of yourself will make your journey smoother from here. You’re not doing anything outside the norm. If possible, talk to people you trust, like your mother, an older sibling, or a cousin, who really know you. Advice online often comes from people projecting their own experiences, which may not always apply to your life.

Take care
