Stay in shape with a daily fitness routine.

@sarabee1995 well, you're ex military, you peeps are always in shape
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Dan193 Still in. Just not active duty. US Navy Reserve at your service.

But I have news for you... The Navy has nothing to do with my being in shape. I started with martial arts at 7 years old and still work on my forms every single morning. 🥋

@sarabee1995 wow you're not just disciplined, you ARE discipline
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Dan193 When you've created a habit like that, missing a day becomes unthinkable. I've been daily practicing some kind of martial arts forms for over twenty years and I'm only thirty years old. 🤷‍♀

@sarabee1995 so would it be fair to call you a master then?
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Dan193 No. That takes many more years of study. I am Sam Dan (삼단) in taekwondo (third degree). My sabom-nim (teacher) is O dan (fifth degree). And, yes, he is called Master.

@sarabee1995 interesting stuff

@sarabee1995 🤮 change to Shotokan
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@ShenaniganFoodie My style may be taekwondo and my tradition may be Korean, but it is martial arts that I study.

Shotokan is an interesting twist on karate, but as a woman, my legs are far more powerful and effective as weapons than my hands. Karate's emphasis on "The Hand" does not serve me well.
