What is togetherness to you? What does community mean?

It always makes me think of small towns and villages or even cults. Lots of pretense and ostracization of people who are different. I feel like it's a bunch of people who pretend to be close but in fact a lot of personal opinions have to be kept secret. The friendliness often comes more from the necessity of being reliant on each other's help rather than genuine open and honest relationships.

Idk, I think it's a good thing if the members are intelligent and emotionally mature and don't try to control lives of others through some religion or uptight personal beliefs and meddle into things that are none of their business and which don't harm anyone. Sadly, people are people with their envy, grudges, paranoias, intolerances, selfishness, rigid ideas of how things should be, etc.
