Race Blindness in a Sense

Why cant we all just think this way when dealing with others? Like people are people and individuals. Cant we just look at people as individuals and not as like a member of a race? Its not like everyone knows and or is influenced by the whole of their race. Especially in America where its a mix of peoples with different backgrounds. I mean sure we can all have preferences just like favorite colors. That is allowed. Why do people have to hate? They dont.

People are programmed to hate. It took me years to overcome crap I heard as a boy. I won't share what people said. Racial stereotypes are mean and spewed by my own race. Things said about Mexicans and Latinos for example are such BS. I know them as hardworking family oriented people who are loyal . I hate it when a race is called dirty ( hygiene wise)...by white trash.

@BLP11520 I understand about programming. I catch myself thinking thoughts sometimes that I would never think of myself. Its like stuff gets said and you hear it and it gets drilled into your mind and you think it unwantingly and have to force yourself to stop because its not true or true to how you feel. Some people can be so nasty and hurtful.

@Penny Yes, I was raised in a vanilla town. I was around other races in the USAF . I had plenty to overcome.

@BLP11520 well, i lived in the country before and just because you are a hill dweller lol doesnt make you racist. people calling them rednecks and white trash is just as bad as anything else. we're kind of defeating the purpose here. sure there may be people like that everywhere. if you mean backwards people then fine but dont call people out like that for living in remote areas. not everyone from a remote area is like that

@Penny Yes, and these people see me work and know that I am healthy . I still get guessed in my 50's even though I am 63. You don't stop functioning at a certain age.
