Thank you for bringing this the attention it deserves. Years back I did a study on the amount of money that actually goes to the needy myself. I was disappointed to discover that a majority of that money goes to administrative fees, bills, etc... and a pittance ends up helping the needy. Then you have the sad music playing in the background, a method straight out of Hollywood. It pulls on those heartstrings and they know it works. No shame. Lots of scoundrels and thieves out there, Charity Navigator is a good place to start when giving. I give to the local pantry where just a few dollars feeds up to 40 hungry mouths.

@PatKirby yeah and several of them say “SUFFERING” in the very same way. Makes me think the same agency is creating commercials for these charities.
