So conceptualize a billion dollars first. I make around 90k a year which is a perfectly reasonable middle class salary. If I saved every penny, it would take me roughly [b]eleven thousand years[/b] to collect a billion dollars.

It's money that is so vast, so incredibly huge, you can't actually spend it. It just gets tied up in the byzantine world of investment capital and just making more money. Nobody who actually works for a living sees a dime from this.

This means this money is not used in a way that actually benefits anyone. It doesn't go to the salaries of their employees, it doesn't go to roads, to hospitals, to keeping people off of the streets, to ... well anything that's actually useful for anyone in society. None of the money of billionaires helps our society function, so why should our society allow it?

Then there's the question of if this money is earned. I don't believe anyone can earn that much money and our idea of 'earn' is weird.

The way people become billionaires is not by having better ideas, working harder, and being more innovative than the rest of us. They become billionaires by buying politicians, influencing laws, and driving investment hype and taking [b]your[/b] tax dollars that should be going into making sure bridges don't collapse.

Amazon has received [b]6.1 billion dollars[/b] from US governments, and its one of the most profitable companies in the world. Did Jeff Bezos -earn- that money?

What about wage theft? Telsa built a gigafactory in Texas and there are endless allegations of wage theft. Did they -earn- that money they stole from their contractors?

Billionaires are policy failures. Nobody can earn that much money without lying, cheating, and stealing. We don't need them, and every dime they have is a dime that could be used for something useful. Parasites, all of them.
