Catfish hunting.

Catfish hunting.
When you see somebody here and you’re pretty sure they’re not real? One of the easiest things to do is go do a reverse image search on that picture. Most often it turns out someone has just nipped something from a website or a porn site and put it up there. I wonder what these people are doing? I just showed someone here, where their pictures came from. Instantly blocked. I wish we could do more about these catfish, they just waste everybody’s time. And are in some cases quite cruel

The thing is I'm on an anonymous website so most people's pictures are not real it's a complete novelty when they are, lolz😄

Like you have a picture of Africa which turns up on the reverse image search. Obviously I could tell anyway, just the same as I can tell when someone's using a picture from an adult website. I don't need to reverse image search the obvious and I certainly have no reason to think anyone's picture would be real on an anonymous website.

All I'm saying though is if someone's trying and extract money or do something malicious then obviously report them, but if someone is just using adult pictures to create adult fantasy posts that countless guys flock to knowing it's just an adult fantasy post...

Why would I care if that's what other people wanna do in their spare time? And if I wanted to see real pictures of real people I'd just join a website where people don't pretend to be continents, bunny rabbits, potatos, p0rn stars, etc.

@AdaXI The potato people ARE real though. Real potatoes from Idaho.

It is well know that a lot of people use altered photos or someone else's pics. I do not know why people would get upset because it is pretty common.

It would be like getting upset about those letters saying, "Your car warranty is about to expire" even though we might drive an old rust bucket that hasn't had a warranty since 2010. Like just throw away the letter and be done.

Some say there are a lot of w3ird people on here. I think the big issue is - a lot of people on here are naive. Sad when a lot of that group is over age 40.

30% of SW users are catfishes , 60% are pervs obsessed with them, and the rest of us 10% are regular users 😆.
SW-User
@SW-User @Bel6EQUJ5 Why are only pervs offended by my statement ? 💀 if you can’t differentiate a catfish from a regular user log off.
SW-User
@SW-User I was thinking that clearly those who take offence don’t consider themselves to be part of the 10%
SW-User
@SW-User That makes sense 😂

I don't really see why people are bothered by the catfish, they are usually pretty obvious and unless you use this site to actually hook up with people in real life I don't see how you'd be affected by them.
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@OlderSometimesWiser There have been times I'm aware of where this has happened but it's all been a long term user who most people on here think is legit rather than one of those that pop up and are obvious.

The one I'm aware of has been doing this since EP and even when they've been outed on here most of their friends continue to believe in them!

They aren't dumb enough to use pictures that are findable through reverse picture search which helps but you will never be able to stop the truly determined from conning others.
@AntisocialTroll Lol….. I’m fairly sure I know of whom you speak. 🙂

@OlderSometimesWiser I assume you are giving, no names though? 😁

They're doing it with food pictures as well. Pretending it's food they cooked but it can be found elsewhere. When those images are just too perfect.. I bite my tongue.

When those images are just too perfect
Well h3ll you just described every food advertisement in existence. 😄
It is always a possibility that the image "ripped from a website or a porn site" could actually be that person. Porn and website people have just as much right and opportunity to be here as the rest of us. 🤷 By the way, I took my profile image from a website. Doesnt mean I am a catfish.

12. You are prohibited from referencing other users by their username, profile picture, or any other identifying content in a manner that constitutes harassment or insult. This prohibition extends to any attempts to expose or assert that a user is impersonating someone else. Rather than mentioning or referencing other users, kindly utilize the 'Report Abuse' button to bring any concerns to our attention. If you wanna double check it's in the 'Acceptable Behavior & Protecting Other People's Rights' section 12:

People often get away with it though because they don't get reported for doing it, but you should really just report them to admin and let them deal with it, because you might be right but other people will abuse it and start slandering people they just don't like.

I love catching them too and the inevitable block when you tell them. Don't know what they get out of it.
Maturebate · 70-79, M
I learned this a long time ago when approached by spammers/scammers wanting money for sick grandmother, etc. do some basic due diligence!
Justenjoyit · 61-69, M
Wasting your time, they will just make a new account with a new picture sadly, saying that, it should be made a crime.
Dshhh · M
@Justenjoyit Actually there’s a simple way the organization here could do this. Keep a list of Email addresses that I’ve been used to establish a profile. Many of those catfish people, will just use the same email again and again
