Is this not catfishing, Patti?
It seems the stinkier the bait, the better. When I was a kid, I would use freshwater clams as bait for catfish. So, I bought some clams one weekend, but something came up and I couldn't go. I put the clams in a plastic bag with water and stored them in the fridge until the next weekend. So...I go fishing the next weekend, open up the first clam to put it on the hook. OMG...the smell about knocked me over, but when I tossed my line out, I had a catfish in about a minute. And every cast led to a fish almost instantly.

@BizSuitStacy They said WD-40 also works well

What a cruel way to spend the day and here you are promoting this as if it were normal and decent. Fish feel pain and suffer trauma due to such thoughtless acts. They don't cry out as they are marine animals. Would you want someone to pull you out of your natural environment to eat you or toss you back as if you were a toy?

@cherokeepatti I only wish the fish could do the same.

@Lilnonames they did a second experiment using two lines baited with Pam spray bait and two lines without. They caught 8 catfish with the Pam bait and only one without. Now they are doing a third experiment using pieces of a dish rag sprayed with Pam and are catching them on that

@NativePortlander1970 would feed a hungry family if they could find families to donate them to
@cherokeepatti Most definitely, they'd have filets for at least a half a year, maybe more if they didn't eat it every day.
