How could you catfish someone?

They pray for the vulnerable ones... then attack like sharks... i got catfished by someone here so bad that still to this day, im not over it and it was 6 to 7 yrs ago. They pretented to be a female and that they also fell for me, lead me to believe we were in a ldr for 2 yrs, but always had sad stories as to how their parents died and had no family, how they were homeless, jobless or worked in car shops, about being suicidal, about having a brain tumor, about sleeping in cars and or under a bridge, about having no clothes or food, about how their phone was always broken and they could not call, video or even send new pics... funny how their phone works perfectly today...

Always complaining about not being able to eat, or get meds, having jail bills to pay or being sent back in.... they got over 25k US$$ from me over 18months that I had to send to her bestfriend's name because she said she had lost all her ID and could not get them back because she was homeless, until I finally woke up and smelled the coffee..and i made some research and found out all her sad stories belonged to her male bestfriend who shares the same birthday, the same last name (letter placed differently), came from same place, moved to same state at the same time, jail stories where his....and so much more

Each time theybneeded money, they put guilt on my head as too.. yeha you got a roof, clithes and food, i dont, fine.. im gonna go kill myself and dissapear... i didnt want a death on my conscience, plus they made me fall for them, this love was killing me...

I gave them my trust, my mobey, my heart.. and all they wanted was my wallet. I was stupid and vulnerable and i trusted too easily, i didnt know ppl could be so cruel on the internet. I had a rough life, they read it and targetted me, they knew id be a good bate and were right.

I tried to out them but got bullied by *her* friends, I got threatened by her , *she* threatened my children, and wend me many death wish msg.... and this peson is still on her doing *her* shit, and telling her sad stories on many accounts and still asking ppl for money, i know cause on my last acount that I had to clise cause of this person, a few ppl came forward telling me after i outted them

I wish i new why she did it to me.... oh wait I know.. he needed money for his wife and kids

Serious catfish, who take money from people and such, are con artists or sometimes being paid by con artists. Otherwise, it can be a way for someone to try out different personas and express different sides of themselves.

I always wondered that too… I think people who do it are perpetually bored and maybe lonely
