Kimberly Jones : “How Can We Win ?” May 30, 2020

A powerful (and controversial) speech…this was during the height of the protests immediately following George Floyd’s murder.

I sort of agree with the reasons, yet it's not just a black issue. Yes the exploiting is a bit heavier on certain minorities. Yet the real reason is to exploit everyone as much as possible.

Let's not forget that human slavery and trafficking is happening even to this day as well as all of history. It's not just one group of people.

It's also why Mexicans, Southeast Asians and more are being taken advantage of right here in the United States of America. Even those in Russia and Ukraine

The story of Russians in Russia being forced to migrate into Finland and other Northern countries brings this to mind. They are being forced to move purposely in order to overcome the economy of the western countries and destabilize them.

That is the same issue with South American counties. They are pushing their own people out to destabilize the United States.

That as well is a form of slavery. Those people really would prefer to stay in their own countries. Yet can not least they die of starvation.

The greed is all pervasive across the whole world.

Why did we even consider getting products from China? Because it's cheaper to exploit the Chinese people. That's greed as well as promotion of slavery.

Yet Tian'anmen Square isn't talk about any more. The worlds largest populated country.

@bijouxbroussard nope because my very family name was wiped out by that history and no i have no Jewish history.

There are no longer any records when there once was something. The records stop at before my grandparents, even their records were expunged.
@DeWayfarer
It's far far bigger than just black people.
I don’t know what to say. I’ve tried analogies but I don’t think you’re hearing me. Maybe Trevor can explain why in this instance, this conversation is not about everyone else. It is specific to black descendants of slaves in the U.S. If you don’t get that, it’s because you’re choosing not to, and unfortunately, that puts you in the same category as the "All Lives Matter" folks, whether it’s your intention or not.

@bijouxbroussard please ask yourself why You are not addressing economic issues even for yourselves much less anyone else! 🤷🏻‍♂️

"Why that"? You're not hearing me either. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The greed in Economics is the reason behind everything including the racism.

Repayment of anything especially present crimes can not begin until the economics is resolved.

I have seen this video before. I like him, yet even he absolutely refuses to address the real economic issues, instead focusing on, as you say, "whateverism" of all the PAST problems, never any current day economic SOLUTIONS.

Get to the root of the problem before you address anything else. The root of the problem is the greed in economics. Or you'll be forever asking and not receiving reparations.

The current economics will never give in to it. It's more blind than everyone else is. The economic system is racist against All the poor, even if it's more so against some than others. It's still the problem. And no one is addressing the economic problems in any way.

I don't like quoting the bible. I think you know why. Yet there is one simple truth in it that I believe is the total truth...

"For the love of money is the root of all evil". ie ECONOMICS.

Please focus on it, for yourselfs as well as everyone else.

No you can't repay enough for passed regressions. Yet you can fix things for future generations.

For without fixing the problem you will continue the multiple problems.

Remember the past, yet keep your head forwards, not backwards.

Looking backwards while walking forewards is asking for disaster to occur once again.

I really don't want that to happen for you or anyone else.

Thanks for sharing this. Kimberly Jones did a great job of putting things in a historical context. The only thing I'd add is that most of the people who participated in the 2020 demonstrations did so peacefully. The rioters/anarchists and looters were in the minority.
@Rutterman That’s true. And not everyone who looted was black, although they may have been poor, too.

As strong and powerful as her words were, the promoters of American Mythology have rebounded by configuring the teaching of the true history as Critical Race theory...when will we ever learn??
@bookerdana The funny thing is, the latest tactic of the right has been to go into denial mode when the truth is just too ugly to accept. Sandy Hook was an example of a single incident where they tried that. Their attempts to shut down the teaching of history based on CRT is that same idea on a much larger scale. Clearly they’re no longer proud of what was done, so they have to pretend it didn’t happen. 😔

@bijouxbroussard They can duck their head like an Ostrich as much as they want if the midterm results didn't wake them up,nothing will
