I Believe Black Lives Matter

i'm mixed race but white skinned.. if i was killed tomorrow no one but my family would care.

otherwise i'm nothing, maybe a statistic.

that's how my cousin was left. hate crime but who cares.

It's true that all lives matter but using it as a refute for black lives matter is missing the point entirely.

NearMiss, it's about percentages. what percentage of each race in the population, percentage of a percentage, meets police brutality. That's why it's a problem.
The existence of those issues you named don't justify or excuse the others. They're problems. If I go on about the problem of racism in response to what you listed, I'd be dismissing them. That's what I'm saying in my story, that that dismissal needs to stop. All of it.

The thing is, certain points are disregarded completely. I was recently told an example I thought was a great analogy. "Would you go up to a cancer patient and tell them 'there are other diseases'?" That's what "all lives matter" as a response is like.
And not everyone protesting is killing cops...

What you just said even. Were you doing anything wrong when they attacked you? You think everyone else must be though? I don't get that way of thinking.

For me I always see the response of "All lives matter." Which is true more or less I suppose, but you're right. I don't see anybody saying "That's true" or agreeing.
