Normally wouldn't give a tinker's, but I did watch Peaky Blinders.

I have gypsies in my family tree

I love it

But then, I never grew up where there was any prejudice against them because there aren't any where I live

A gypsy boy once came to discuss trading horses when I was staying on a farm in Finland

He was the most beautiful person I've ever seen

The only time a person's looks has taken my breath away

Oh wow, that’s very cool! @PlatonicSquirelFriends
Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones was the first generation of his family to be born on dry land. While his parents and grandparents were traditional "water gypsies"—a term used in the UK for generations of families who lived and worked on river and canal barges—Ronnie himself had a land-based childhood. - Wikipedia

I don't single out the Roma particularly, but one third-generation settled gypsy with whom I worked, said most of the "travellers" now are not Romanies at all, but just drop-outs, and it is they who are the least law-abiding and most anti-social.
They get a bad rep where I'm from too. But largely varies with how clean they are too.

Are you from the UK? I am and they’re not thought of that well here.@boklenholley7
@Strongtea nope. US I'm just up really late (or early?) I'm referencing the midwest specifically.
Strongtea · 22-25, M
Ah ok, I actually didn’t know they were a thing over there. I want to be open minded about them, but there’s a lot of negatives that people talk about.@boklenholley7

anyone can be like that
SirAhmed · 31-35, M
Met a few of them and they were quite decent people. different mentality of course but we got along just fine.
You can't judge anyone based on other's opinions

I always take as I find. There are some that have settled in a designated camp near my town and they have been no trouble. It's unfair to tar everyone in a social group with the same brush.
Strongtea · 22-25, M
Yes, I do agree. I’m slightly nervous of them, but do think we should all try to get on.@CatCatKittie

@Strongtea I understand that some of them are a nightmare.
Have a few friends who are Romani and never had issues with them or any other travelers to be honest but I understand that others have. I don't care much for the antiziganist sentiment a lot of people have when it comes to them.
Strongtea · 22-25, M
I come from a place where most people hate them basically. I’m really trying to be open minded. Hopefully I can meet some nice ones in my lifetime. @DancingStarGoddess
@Strongtea I understand completely
I don't have an opinion on it ...it's up to them to live how they choose
