I was a young man in the early 1970s and playing the Last Post when a very elderly gentleman a veteran of WWII came up to me and told me how much he appreciated my playing. He along with my grandparents were all born in the 1800's As a little kid Mom would take me to the cenotaph on Nov 11 and I remember seeing the vets divided by wars. The youngest being WWII and the next oldest being WWI and the very oldest being Boer War vets. The second Boer War started in 1899 so yeah those gents were born in the 1800s.
Yes. My great, grandma

My one remaining grandma and countless others (I'm almost as old as Israel, so... )
@rinkydinkydoink you have a remaining family member born in the 1800s?! How old is she?

Sorry for the confusion. Grandma Williams died in 1958. Her husband died in 1912 in a radial car accident near Brantford, Ont.
My having been born in 1948 means I had to have had met countless others born during the reign of Queen Vickie.

No but one of my past supervisors told me her mum was a Victorian and I laughed thinking she was kidding. She wasn't.

I did remember my great grandmother when I was little. I think she was born around the late 1880s or the early 1890s.

Apparently, I met my great grandmother, who died at the age of 99. I think she was born about 1880.

My grandfather was born in 1878. He died when I was 6.

So I was told, when I was a baby, I met my great grandmother. She was born in the 1880s. She died about a month later, talking about "that baby." (Presumably me)

Possibly 1899 when I was a young child. When I worked in a care home there was a lady born in 1909 and that was in 2008.

During my younger years I met MANY people who were born in the 1800s (relatives, church-goers, people on the street). All are gone now.

My great grandmother was born in the later 1800's but I don't know what year.
My grandfather, my mom's father, was born in 1899 and passed away at age 93.
